Power Loss (or Limited or Check Engine) Lamp

Description

This lamp is located somewhere on the instrument cluster or dashboard and is used by the logic module to make the driver aware of engine and computer problems.  Problems with certain sensors will cause the logic module to turn on the lamp.  These are generally serious problems that must be addressed as soon as possible.  See the descriptions of each sensor or the Fault Code Description Pages, for information about when the power loss lamp is turned on.  The lamp is also used to display fault codes by blinking the lamp in sequences.  See the Fault Codes Description Pages for information on how to do this.  When the ignition is first turned on, the power loss lamp is momentarily turned on as a bulb test.
